Auspicious Vastu Tips for Entrance/Main Door [DO’s & DON’Ts]

February 24, 2014 by Vastu Shastra Guru 293 Comments

Vastu Shastra has great importance for entrance door in a home, as this is the place from where energies, either positive or negative, enter and exit a house.

Having said this, it is obvious that if more negative energies are entering a home from main door then people in the house will not prosper.

On the other hand if more positive energy is entering a home then the residents will prosper.

Before you read any further, I assume that you already are aware of vastu shastra. If not, I recommend you to read our article which introduces you to vastu shastra so that you know and understand vastu in a better way.

Main Door Entrance VastuNow, let’s continue our discussion on main entrance vastu; the most important part regarding entrance door of a home is direction, hence before looking at other vastu tips for main door, I want you to have a look at auspicious directions for entrance in a house.

Main or Entrance Door Vastu – Effect of Directions

North:- If you want to locate the entrance door in North wall of a home, then make sure the door is in North-East section of North wall.

The reason for this is to allow morning sun (UV Rays for purification), fresh light and air to enter the home from East.

Also keep the door towards center of wall (not exactly at center) and locate a window near North-East corner.

Update: More on north facing house @ North Facing House Vastu Shastra

South:- If you want to locate entrance of a home in South wall, then locating the door towards South-East is auspicious; avoid having the door at center or South-West portion of wall.

For all houses having main door in South direction, it’s must to have another door in North direction also.

Update: More on South facing house @ South Facing House Vastu Shastra

East:- To locate main entrance door in East wall, vastu suggests keeping it in North-East part.

West:- North-West half of West wall is more suitable for main entrance as per vastu.

Update: More on West facing house @ West Facing House Vastu

The below diagram helps you identify best locations for entrance door for a house as per vastu shastra.

In fact, as per vastu shastra, a South facing house can really be very auspicious, if and only if, it follows very certain vastu principles & guidelines.

However, if a South facing house isn’t as per vastu rules, then it tends to become the most inauspicious house that you can ever have.

Vastu for Home – A Comprehensive House Vastu Guide

November 27, 2013 by Vastu Shastra Guru 148 Comments

Vastu for home is a collective approach, what I mean here is that if you do vastu for all rooms and parts of a home then complete home automatically becomes as per vastu.

But before you begin to learn simple and easy steps for doing vastu for your home, I want to know if you knew what vastu is; if you do know, then read on, but if you don’t know what vastu is, then I sincerely request you to read our article which enables you to comprehend the glory and positivity of vastu shastra @ Vastu Shastra – Sacred Science of Harmony and Prosperity.

Now, since you are – or have become- aware of what vastu shastra is, you are now ready to take the next step, that is, to make your home a vastu compliant one.

Since you have taken “that important” step to do vastu for home, let me appreciate and congratulate you for your gesture as with this step you have moved forward towards success, prosperity and abundance.
Vastu Shastra For Home

Vastu for Home – What in the world is it?

To make you better understand the phrase “vastu for home”, I want you to focus on each word of the phrase, namely, “vastu” and “home”. Let’s understand each word separately and then I will combine the words, so that the term “vastu for home” makes complete and perfect sense to you.

Vastu: As you are already aware that vastu is an ancient Indian science of enhancing positive and eliminating negative energies in and around a place or person; and the more positive energies are around you, the more abundance is attracted towards you.

Hence, it is safe to say that vastu creates abundance and prosperity in life of people.

Home: Now, a home is the place where a person or family “lives” and by lives I mean really live and not just stay.

If someone just “stays in” at a place then the place is not a home, that’s why, you just “stay” in a hotel and not live in there.

Home is made up of passion, emotions and feelings like love and warmth.

Tell me, how many times had it hurt you because you checked out of a hotel?

On the other hand, imagine the pain you suffer, had something happen to your “home”.

That’s because you are “emotionally attached” to your home, you love your home and share a harmonious vibration with your home and the home shares same vibrations with you.

At this point, you must understand that all the emotions are nothing but vibrations and vibrations are – in turn – nothing but expressions of energy.

Hence it is safe for me to say that a home is the place with which a family – or an individual – shares their vibrations and vice versa.

Till the time home and residents share positive energies with each other everything remains awesome, but as soon as negative energies starts to enter a home, things start to become ugly – REALLY UGLY.

Wanna know how? Read on.

You must understand that for each and every positive there is a negative, hence for each and every positive feeling – or energy – there is an equal amount of negative energy present in the universe.

Now imagine what could happen if negative energies enter your home, suppressing positive ones?

Obviously, the negative energy starts to affect you; not only just physically – by making you suffer medically – but also spiritually and mentally – by keeping you tensed, forcing you to take wrong decisions and much worse.

Now, try to combine above definitions of “vastu” and “home”.

What you get is a vastu compliant home which has the capability of ridding negative energy and accepting – and even enhancing – only the positive energies.

This – in turn – will always have positive effect on you – as residents – and you will prosper, be successful, experience abundance and peace – always.

Vastu for Home – What’s the Importance?

Since you have read previous section of this article, it will become easier for you to comprehend and imagine the ill-effects if you happen to choose to live in vastu non-compliant home.

Making a list of all possible things that can – and will – go wrong in a vastu non-compliant home will take years to compile; hence what I have done here is, I have made a list of some – in fact very few –definite problems, evils and negative circumstances that one will face if he/she chooses to live in a vastu non-compliant home.

Here’s what all will go wrong in vastu non-compliant home:

  1. Social Losses: loss of respect in society, legal matters and other possible ways to achieve this.
  2. Monetary Hassles: business losses, nonpayment of credit to lenders and ultimately bankruptcy.
  3. Medical Troubles: Extreme sickness, lethal diseases and even untimely death.

and remember these are just few, indeed, very few.

Since you have read this far, I can safely assert that you are a responsible person and in no case you will want yourself or your family to go through any of the above mentioned – and not mentioned – negative patches.

As you have seen earlier that vastu enhances positive and eliminates negative energies, hence once you do vastu for your home, you can then rest assured that you, your family and your home are always shielded from such terrible negative forces of the world.

To know how you can apply vastu for protecting your family from such negativities, all you have to do is just to read on.

How You Can Do Vastu for Your Home?

“Actions speak louder than words” and this section of the article is dedicated to taking actions.

Actions that you can – and are going to – take NOW to ensure that your home is as per rules and guidelines of vastu shastra.

The first action which I want you to take is to have a good look at the image below, as this is the image which will enable you to understand which room or part of your home must be located at what place.

Vastu for Home

The above image will always assist you – in present and even in future – whenever you happen to do vastu for home.

From the image above, you can understand that each room and part, that a home is made up of, has a designated place as per vastu shastra, and the best part is that once you have located the rooms as per rules and guidelines of vastu, half of your work is completed.

Why did I say only half and not full, that’s because vastu shastra has tips, rules and guidelines for each and every room of a home.

Hence the equation stands something like this –

Vastu for Home = Locate rooms and parts as per vastu + do vastu for each room and part of home

Since you now know where to locate each room/part within a home, you have completed the part before “+” of the equation, all you now need to do is to complete the remaining part of the equation and THAT’S IT!!!

Now, to complete the remaining – simple and easy – part of the equation and do vastu for home completely, you need to understand vastu for each room and part of a home.

Where will you get that information?

It’s RIGHT HERE!!!

Here are the links where you will find all the information about vastu for each room @:

  1. Bedroom
  2. Kitchen
  3. Dining Room
  4. Pooja Room
  5. Living Room
  6. Toilets
  7. Study Room
  8. Home Coloring Guide

also, you can find and read the information regarding parts of home @:

  1. Main Door/Entrance Vastu
  2. Staircase Vastu
  3. Septic Tank Vastu
  4. Garden Vastu
  5. Water Tank Vastu (Overhead and Underground)
  6. Car Parking (Garage) Vastu Shastra

Each of the above links will tell you how you can do internal planning, décor, wall colors and other related parameters that play crucial role in vastu for each room and auxiliary parts.

You must take action – read, learn and understand all of them, read them carefully, understand them, memorize them, do whatever you like, but make sure you always have them handy.

Once you have read and understood vastu for each room, you can easily start planning a structure for your home.

As rightly said by Benjamin Franklin

A house is not a home unless it contains food and fire for the mind as well as the body.
-Benjamin Franklin

I hope, believe and trust that my “Vastu for Home” article guides and helps you in making your home a really sweet home.

Thanks for your valuable time and please share this priceless information with your family and friends.

36 MUST FOLLOW Living Room Vastu Tips

November 6, 2013 by Vastu Shastra Guru 46 Comments

In this article, I am going to present to you, all the simple and easy vastu tips which you can – and MUST – follow to make your living room a vastu compliant one.

You know, a living room – or drawing room – which follows vastu shastra attracts wealth, happiness and prosperity – which are all positive energies.

These positive energies then interact with you and your family making – you and them – successful, joyous and contented.

Living rooms are an important part of each and every home; it doesn’t matter whether a house is modern or ancient, you will certainly find a living room in that home.

But WHY, you may ask; and the answer to this question is very simple.

“Man is a social animal by nature” – this is the simplest and the most straightforward answer to this question.

A living room is the place of gathering – the place where you entertain your guests, socialize with people, enjoy and spend immeasurable quality time with your family.

In short, it is the place where most of your “sweet memories” are made.

For these reasons, I can safely state that a living room has dual functions:

  1. It is an interface where you socialize with outside people, such as guests, friends and distant relatives.
  2. It’s also a place where you share private time with your family doing activities, such as, watching TV, family discussions and anything and everything that you and your family love to do together.

Since a living room serves dual purposes in a home, hence it’s very important to make it as per rules and regulations of vastu shastra.

If you want to know “why”, then read the next section.

Living Room Vastu Tips

In most cases the entrance – or main door – of a home leads directly to drawing/living room; the main door of a home is the place from where energy – positive or negative – enters the home; hence it’s very important to make home entrance a vastu compliant one.

Read the article on how and why you MUST make the main door as per rules and regulations of vastu to know more on entrance door vastu shastra.

Living Room Vastu – Why Is It Important?

Since you have now become aware of the dual purposes of living room, you are in a better position to understand and contemplate the reasons to have a living room that follows vastu shastra.

Below, I have provided some examples that will make you consider doing vastu for your living room.

As mentioned earlier that it’s the living room where guests are entertained in a home; some of them have positive feelings – or energy – whereas others have negative ones (Hmm, there are all kinds of people in this world).

Now, imagine a guest, who has negative feelings for you and your family, entering your home and spending time in your living room.

Where is the guest dropping all the negative energy?

RIGHT IN YOUR LIVING ROOM!!

What happens to “this negative energy” if your living room if not “equipped” to get rid of it?

It spreads to entire home, affects you and your family in – obviously – negative ways.

I will tell you one more way of negative energy entering your home.

The main door of a home – mostly – leads to living room; hence any negative energy which – somehow – crosses the main door, enters the living room directly.

Since you and your family spend time in living room – with each other and with people outside of family – hence you all get impacted by negative energies present in the living room.

Since you have now read two main – but easily possible – scenarios of negative energies entering your home, I believe that you now understand how vulnerable a living room becomes if it’s not able to dispose of negative energies and attract and simultaneously enhance positive ones – which is why we do vastu.

Hence, if the living room in your home is not as per vastu shastra; then I sincerely urge you to read the next section of this article to know and understand all the important steps that you need to take to make your living room a vastu compliant one.

Vastu for Living Room – How You Can Do It?

This part of the article is dedicated to provide you “the actions” which you MUST take to make the living room in your home a vastu compliant one.

Understand that this is a two step process.

In the first step I want to take a look at the image below so that you understand the best location where you need to locate the drawing room in your home.

Vastu for Living Room

Since you have seen – and I believe have completely understood – the best location(s) for a living room in a home, you are now ready to take the second step towards making your living room a vastu compliant one.

The second – and the final – step which you need to follow is to read and follow all the below mentioned vastu tips for living room.

Living Room Vastu Tips:

  1. Construct a living room in East (not in South East corner, except for South facing houses) or in North.
  2. A living room is more beneficial in North direction.
  3. The North-West living room is also good; since presiding element of North-West part of a home is “Air”, the guests in this drawing-room start to feel restless after sometime and tend to leave early. This could be a great site of living area for families who want to avoid late night parties and get-together.
  4. God presides North-East of the house and this is one of the ideal locations for a living room, however it’s better suited for a pooja or prayer room.
  5. A living room in North brings lot of wealth and health for entire family.
  6. South-West located living room makes your guests feel at home and they stick to your home for long time. If you – and your family – have very active social life and just love your guests to stay too long (which could be difficult to manage at times) then you can locate your living room here. However, this place is best suited for Master Bedroom.
  7. Living area floor should slope towards East or North.
  8. The ceiling of living area, if sloping towards East or North is good.
  9. Have the door of the living room in East or North as they are very auspicious and brings wealth, health and overall progress.
  10. South, North-East or South-East entrance indicates success but then it takes lot of hard work to achieve.
  11. West entrance for living area is good for scholars and researchers.
  12. Living area’s North-West entrance supports development in all areas of life.
  13. South entrance for living area is inauspicious; just shift the entrance to West for better results.
  14. Within the living area keep internal furniture, articles and heavy things in West or South side. If there is no option, then use a base of 1-3 inches height to keep furniture in North or North-East.
  15. The head of the family, in living area, should sit facing East or North so that he remains in command and guests are not able to dominate him.
  16. Put the TV in South-East corner and not in North-East corner.
  17. If TV is in South-West corner, then it will breakdown often.
  18. If television is in North-West corner then the family will waste a lot of precious time watching TV only.
  19. Keep telephone in East, South-East or North.
  20. Do not keep telephone in South-West or North-West.
  21. Place air cooler and air conditioner in West, North-West or East and not in South-East.
  22. You can hang portraits of Gods or some beautiful paintings in the North-East wall or corner.
  23. Do not hang any portrait depicting negative energy e.g. war, crime, weeping etc in the living area (actually avoid them anywhere in a home).
  24. Use white, light yellow, blue or green colors for living room walls.
  25. Avoid red or black for living area wall colors.
  26. Keep square or rectangular furniture in living area and avoid circular, oval or any other shape of furniture (this is applicable to furniture in entire home).
  27. Provide a staircase in the South, West or South-West corner of living area.
  28. Put light curtains on North-East windows and doors and heavy curtains in South-West (this is applicable anywhere in a home) of living area.
  29. Keep North-East corner of living area clean and empty if possible. Also, to make things better, keep some healthy plants in this corner.
  30. Never keep artificial flowers, dried flowers (they attract misfortune), cactus/cacti or bonsai plants (have negative influence on finance and career) and are inauspicious.
  31. Hang a chandelier in South or West of living area; do not hang anything in center.
  32. Lit the living area brightly with soothing lights.
  33. Keep a fish aquarium in the East, North or North-East of the living area. In vastu shastra, a fish aquarium is considered a very powerful tool – so powerful that it acts a remedy for many vastu defects. But, you must use fish aquarium as per the rules and guidelines of vastu; else it may ruin all the happiness in your home. Read the article on vastu tips and guidelines for fish aquarium to know more on how you can easily have a vastu compliant fish aquarium at your home.
  34. If there is an error in the North-West corner then placing an aquarium will drop that issue.
  35. Never keep an aquarium in South as draws all positive energy out of home.
  36. You can place a water fountain in North.

Armed with these simple but very powerful vastu tips for living room; as you now know the implications of not having a vastu compliant living room, I sincerely trust that you will leave no stone unturned to make you living room a vastu compliant one.
