October 31, 2013 by Vastu Shastra Guru 149 Comments

When considering doing vastu for home, you must pay special attention to make toilets and bathrooms in your home as per rules and guidelines of vastu shastra.

Toilets and bathrooms are – or tend to become – a major source of negative energy if they are not built as per rules and guidelines of vastu.

Hence, in this article, I will reveal to you the best location, internal arrangement of items and the most efficient vastu tips which you can – and must – apply to make vastu compliant toilets and bathrooms in your home.

Here, I assume that you already know about vastu shastra; however, if you don’t know what vastu shastra is then I recommend you to read the article about what vastu shastra is and how it affects your life and become familiar with vastu shastra.

If you are planning to do vastu for your home – which I think you should do – then you MUST READ the article on how you can do vastu for your home so that you have a better plan to achieve a vastu compliant home.

Now, coming back to the topic of this article i.e. vastu for toilets and bathrooms.

As per vastu shastra, the toilets and bathrooms in a home must be separate and not attached, but there are over 7 billion people on earth and 70% of earth’s surface is water, hence the space is limited for living and thus attached toilets or attached bathrooms – as some people call them – have found a way into our homes.

But this doesn’t mean that if you have attached bathrooms or toilets in your home then you cannot do vastu for them.

You can easily do vastu for them also and that’s what you are going to learn here.

But before you take any action further, I want you to go through the next section of this article which tells you the importance of doing vastu for toilets and bathrooms in your home.

Also, the next section makes you aware of the common problems and issues associated with vastu non compliant bathrooms and toilets; hence if you are facing similar troubles in your life, you can easily pin point the reason for such troubles and apply suitable remedies to get rid of them.

Attached Bathroom Toilet Vastu Tips

Toilet and Bathroom Vastu – Why so much fuss?

Many troubles and issues are invited by vastu non compliant bathrooms and toilets.

Here in this section, I have listed the most common – but in no way painless – troubles and issues which find their way in if the toilet/bathroom of your home doesn’t comply with vastu rules and guidelines.

Remember that many people have already faced these problems and there are many others who are still being grinded by them.

Vastu Non-Compliant Bathrooms – List of Problems They Attract

  1. Financial Issues: Weak finances, loss of money by various means.
  2. Health Issues: Mental tension and stress, frequent – lethal and minor – accidents.

Having seen – some – common problems that may arise due to vastu defect in toilet and bathroom, you are now ready to read and understand how you can make the toilet and bathroom in your home a vastu compliant one.

All you need to do now is to read the next section of this very same article.

Vastu Compliant Toilets and Bathroom – How To Do It The Correct Way?

This section of the article reveals to you the best vastu tips, location, wall colors, internal arrangement of items and much more in a bathroom while complying with the rules and regulations of vastu shastra.

Making an attached toilet a vastu compliant one is a three step process.

In the first step you will learn the best location, as per vastu, where you can make a toilet or bathroom in your home.

Have a look at the image below and you will be able to easily understand the best and the second best locations, as per vastu, within a home where you can make toilet or bathroom.

Toilet-Bathroom Vastu ShastraTips

Since you have seen the image and understood that the best location for a toilet or bathroom is the North-West part of the home (not the North-West corner), see carefully that I have left the corners in the image.

The second best location for a toilet is the North-East part and not the North-East corner, and the South-West part leaving the South-West corner, you are now ready for the second step in making a vastu compliant toilet.

The second step is to identify the internal arrangements of items such as geyser, bathtub, taps, mirror, commode etc. in an attached bathroom.

To make this process simpler, I have created another image which tells you the best possible arrangements of essential items and fittings in a bathroom.

Pooja/Prayer Room Vastu Tips [17 DOs & 19 DON’Ts]

October 29, 2013 by Vastu Shastra Guru 93 Comments

Pooja room – or prayer room – is – and must be – one the most auspicious and sacred rooms of your home.

But this “most auspicious and sacred” room needs be as per rules and guidelines of vastu shastra.

Since you worship, keep religious texts, idols and images of deity’s and other Godly belongings in this room, hence you must protect this room from negative energies.

WHY?

To know the answer, just read on.

Once you have made a pooja or prayer room in your home then “the room” automatically starts to attract positivity and harmony.

However, if the pooja room is left unprotected then this “attracted” positivity and harmony starts to weaken due to influence of negative energies that – may be – present in your home.

Hence, you must take all the required actions and make sure that the pooja room in your home is vastu shastra compliant so that it is capable of enhancing and attracting positive energies in and around your home.

Pooja Room Vastu Tips

How to Make Your Pooja Room Vastu Compliant?

Making a pooja room vastu shastra compliant is a two step process.

The first step that you need to take is to locate the pooja room – obviously – in the most auspicious way.

Now, to help you to identify the best possible location for a pooja – or prayer – room in your home, I have made an image, which reveals to you the best location for a pooja room in a home as per vastu shastra.

Pooja Room Vastu Shastra

As you may see in the image above that the best place to locate pooja room is the North-East corner of your home.

However – due to any reason – if the North-East corner is unavailable then you can make the pooja room in East or West side of your home.

The next – and the last – step to make a vastu compliant pooja room is to follow all vastu tips and guidelines for pooja room which are mentioned below.

Pooja Room Vastu Tips:

What You Must Follow

  1. As per pooja room vastu, north-east corner of home is best site for pooja place.
  2. East and west are second best locations.
  3. Keep the pooja place on ground floor.
  4. In big plots or factories etc. construct pooja ghar at center; this is very auspicious.
  5. Keep the idols in east and/or west of the prayer room.
  6. Place the idols a few inches (at least an inch) away from wall.
  7. Make sure that all the idols are always in perfect condition.
  8. Have two shutter door of high quality wood for prayer room.
  9. Pooja Room can have doors and windows in north or east walls.
  10. White or light yellow colored marble work in prayer room makes it more auspicious.
  11. Use white, light yellow or light blue colors for walls of pooja room.
  12. You can place a lamp stand in the pooja room in south-east or eastern side.
  13. If the roof of pooja room is pyramid shape then it’s very auspicious.
  14. You can place an Agnikund in the prayer room in south-east corner.
  15. Keep showcases and almirahs towards west or south walls.
  16. Entrance of pooja place must have a threshold.
  17. If the prayer area is in kitchen then keep it in the north-east corner of kitchen; you should face east while praying.

 What You Must Avoid

  1. The pooja place should never be in south direction.
  2. Do not have pooja place in a store-room.
  3. Avoid pooja place in any bedroom. However if there is no option then use the north-east corner of the bedroom as pooja place (but remember this is the last and least favored option). Also remember that while sleeping or lying on bed your feet should not point towards this corner.
  4. Never make pooja room in basement or first or above floors.
  5. Do not have prayer place above, below or next to any toilet or kitchen.
  6. Avoid pooja room or place under a staircase.
  7. Idols should never face south.
  8. Do not chisel off the wall to make place for keeping idols.
  9. Never keep broken idols.
  10. Idols should never be directly in front of the entrance door of prayer room.
  11. Never keep the idols brought from old temples in the prayer room.
  12. Women should not enter the prayer room during menses.
  13. Scenes or photos of crime, battles or of any negative emotions are a strict “no” in the pooja place. Actually you must avoid them in your entire home.
  14. Do not hang photos of animals and birds in the pooja place.
  15. Never have photos of passed away people in the pooja area.
  16. Never keep a dustbin in the pooja place; it reduces positive energy of the room.
  17. No one should sleep in the prayer room (except if the prayer room is in bedroom).
  18. Don’t keep the items in the pooja area that do not belong there.
  19. Never ever – under any circumstance – conceal any money or other valuables in pooja place.

I believe and trust that above vastu tips for pooja room will definitely make your prayer room a very auspicious one.

Kitchen Vastu – Here’s How to Have a Vastu Compliant Kitchen

October 23, 2013 by Vastu Shastra Guru 41 Comments

Vastu for kitchen is important since kitchen represents the “Fire” element.

I am sure you already know that fire, in controlled environment, is beneficial, but if the same – yes very same – fire goes out of hand then it obliterates everything and anything in its way.

The above statement holds true for both types of fire – the actual fire and symbolic fire.

Getting confused?

Just read on and everything will make sense to you in a moment.

As actual fire transforms uncooked or raw food into edible one, in the same manner, symbolic fire provides heat to your physical body and desires to your spiritual self for everything in life.

Imagine, what would happen if symbolic fire within you died?

You start to lose hope in life; all the “burning desires” come to end; your body becomes cold.

On the other hand, what would happen if the same fire – symbolic one – goes out of control?

You start to suffer medically, the “burning desires” will make you mentally sick and you start to lose your position, respect and dignity in society.

Now, you see, why is it important to have kitchen as per vastu shastra?

Kitchen Vastu Shastra Tips

Vastu for Kitchen –What is it?

To make you understand “vastu for kitchen” in a better way, I want you to consider the words “vastu” and “kitchen” separately and then I will combine the two terms so that term “vastu for kitchen” becomes clearer to you.

Vastu: You might already know that Vastu Shastra is an ancient Indian science of balancing energies in and around a place.

Here, I assume that you already know what vastu shastra is; if you don’t know what vastu is then I suggest you to read our article which enables you to understand vastu shastra in a better way.

Kitchen: Kitchen is where healthy and nutritious food is cooked.

Kitchen is the place of transformation – because it’s in the kitchen where all the raw and uncooked food is transformed into delicious meals.

The same food then provides “energy” to family members.

I want you to pay special attention to the word “energy” here.

The energy that you receive by consuming the food is positive one – that’s why it makes you feel good, happy and contented.

What would happen if the same food starts to instill negative energy in you?

Want to know how this can happen? Just read on.

I believe that you know that everything in this universe is energy.

Fire is also an expression of energy.

I have told you earlier that a controlled fire is beneficial i.e. it is positive energy with respect to you and uncontrolled fire is disastrous i.e. negative energy.

Now, imagine – due to vastu defect, which is imbalance in energy –your kitchen starts to give off negative energy rather that positive ones.

What happens next?

The negative energy starts to affect you physically and mentally.

You start to feel the negative impacts on your body and mind.

Obviously, you lose your health; with degrading health you don’t stand a chance to manage your day to day work; you start to become frustrated and this repercussions list can go on and on and on.

It is therefore very important for you to make your kitchen as per rules and regulations of vastu shastra so that the kitchen generates and enhances positive energy, suppressing – and even eliminating – negative ones.

Now combine the above two terms, namely, vastu and kitchen.

What you get is a vastu compliant kitchen having all the ability and capacity to dispose of all negative energies together with accepting and enhancing all the positive energies available.

This –in turn –will always have positive and beneficial impacts on you.

You will prosper, become more and more joyous, successful and will have peace of mind –always.

Vastu for Kitchen –Is it Important?

I believe that you have already read the previous section of this article and are in a better position to understand the ill-effects of vastu non-compliant kitchen.

In the previous section, I believe you understood some of the negative impacts of a vastu non-compliant kitchen.

Here, in this section, I have pin pointed some – in fact very few – but definite problems which one will face if he/she chooses not to do vastu for kitchen.

Vastu Non-Compliant Kitchen – Here’s the List of Problems

  1. Health Loss –loss of health for the cook and head of the family, lethal diseases and untimely death
  2. Financial Loss –financial condition deteriorates, credits goes up, bankruptcy
  3. Family Disputes –clashes within family, separation or divorce

and these are – as I mentioned – very few.

Your dedication to read this far of this article makes me to believe and safely assert that you are a responsible person and under no circumstances you will ever want yourself or your family to go through all the troubles which are mentioned – and unmentioned above.

Being an intelligent person – who I know you are – you might have already understood by now that doing vastu for kitchen ensures that you and your family are protected and shielded from all negative attributes – arising out of kitchen – and hence you must take the necessary action to do vastu for your kitchen.

Now, in order to take “that necessary action” and make your kitchen a vastu compliant one, all you need to know is vastu tips for kitchen which I have detailed in the next section, so just read on.

Vastu for Kitchen –How You Can Do It?

“Better to prevent and prepare, rather than repent and repair” and this part of article makes you to prevent the entry of any negative energy –via kitchen– in your home.

There are actually two steps to make your kitchen as per rules and guidelines of vastu shastra.

The first step – which I really want you to take – is to have a very good look at the image below.

This image tells you the best location of kitchen in a house.

Kitchen Vastu Shastra Tips

Having seen the image, I believe, you now know that the best location to make kitchen is the South-East corner of a home.

However, as I have seen in many cases, sometimes a kitchen is placed in the North-East corner of a home – and this is a serious vastu defect. If – by any chance – the kitchen in your home is placed in the North-East corner then you must read the article on vastu remedies you must apply – immediately – to eliminate the negative impacts of North-East kitchen.

The second and the last step that you must take to make your kitchen in complete accordance with vastu shastra is reading and applying following vastu tips.

Vastu Tips for Kitchen:

What You Must Avoid:

  1. Avoid kitchen directly under or above pooja/prayer room.
  2. Do not have kitchen directly under or above toilets.
  3. Avoid kitchen directly under or above bedroom.
  4. Do not place cooking gas burner or stove directly in front kitchen’s entrance door.
  5. Do not have main door of kitchen in any corners; place it in East, North or West wall.
  6. A kitchen in North-East causes mental tension among family members and they suffer great losses. This is a common vastu defect, if – in your home – the kitchen is in the North-East corner, then you must read the article mentioning the remedies which you can take to reduce the ill effects of this vastu defect.
  7. Kitchen in South-West leads to clashes among family members.
  8. A kitchen in North-West direction is acceptable but it leads to increase in monetary expenditure.
  9. Most dangerous kitchen is the one placed in North direction; as North is Lord Kubera’s (the God of Wealth) direction, having kitchen in North will increase expenditure of family beyond expectations and control.
  10. Never face west while cooking as this leads to severe health problems to the cook.
  11. If – while cooking – the cook faces south then family has to face monetary losses.
  12. Avoid black color for kitchen wall and flooring.
  13. Avoid keeping refrigerator in North-East direction.

What You Must Do:

  1. Place platform of the kitchen in East and South-East corner.
  2. Put cooking gas burner or stove in South-East corner of kitchen, make sure that it is a few inches away from wall.
  3. Provide “L” shaped platform, next to the kitchen’s main platform, near South wall and use this platform for keeping and operating microwave ovens, mixer/grinder etc.
  4. Use North-East to set up wash-basin or sink in the kitchen.
  5. Use North-East or North side to keep drinking water and utensils for drinking water.
  6. Keep grain boxes, pulses, various spices, salt etc. in South or West direction.
  7. Have two windows/gaps in East and West walls of kitchen and place an exhaust fan in any of the windows/gaps.
